Installation

  • Download spca5xx-20060301.tar.gz
  • Unpack (tar -xvzf spca5xx-20060301.tar.gz)
  • cd spca5xx-20060301
  • make
  • sudo make install
  • sudo modproce spxa5xx
  • plug in your Webcam
  • add user to group video in /etc/group
  • Testing: use something like
    • xawtv -c /dev/video0
    • gnomemeeting
    • motion
    • ARToolkit
